Brother, Can You Spare A Job?

The United States Bureau of Labor released the December unemployment figures on Friday. As the economy continues to spiral downward, the unemployment figures contine to spiral upward.

  • The United States unemployment rate is now 7.2%. This is a major jump from November’s 6.7% figure.
  • 524,000 jobs were lost in December
  • 11.1 million men and women are without work
  • 2.6 million people have been looking for six months or more for employment
  • The real unemployment rate – unemployed, underemployed and discouraged – is 13.5%
