Recovery And Inequality At The Same Time?

I have read a couple of articles recently that have proven informative and beneficial to me. They pertain to the economy in the United States and address “recovery,” jobs, and income inequality.

The first article is entitled “Economic Recovery For Whom?” It was written by economist Richard Wolff. Dr. Wolff says that,

“‘Recovery,’ in this capitalist economy, refers to profits, not to people.”

Read the article here.

The second article is “The Precarious Job Recovery”  and was written by Robert Reich. In it Reich says,

“Corporate profits are up but the money isn’t flowing to American workers.”

You can read the article here.

The third and final article was also written by Robert Reich. It is entitled “The Widening Divide of Wealth, and Why We Need a Surtax on the Super-Rich.”

“America’s wealth gap – already wider than the nation’s income gap – has become even wider. The 400 richest Americans have more wealth than the bottom 150 million Americans put together.”

Reich’s article can be read here.
